22 Exchanges, View-Only Keys: Connect Your Book Without Giving Us Custody

Most “connect your exchange” pitches skip the part that matters: what permissions are you actually handing over?

What we built on Features

We added a clear map on Features: 22 exchange connects for importing closed fills into your journal and holdings into Portfolio.

The rule is simple:

• You connect with a view-only / read-only API key

• Your money stays on your exchange

• We import records for visibility — we do not take custody

• We never place trades on your behalf

If a product needs trade permissions to “help you journal,” that is a different product. Ask why.

Why read-only is the product, not a footnote

Traders have been burned by blurry permission screens. Marketing says “sync.” The key says “trade.”

Our bar:

1. Read-only keys — view access, not trade permissions

2. No custody — funds stay where you already keep them

3. Live on phone — Journal → Exchanges in the Discipline AI app on iOS and Android

Phone-first still applies. A connect flow that only works on a desktop ops console is incomplete.

Availability can vary by region and by what each venue exposes through their API. The honest list is the one in the app under Journal → Exchanges — and the one we now show on Features.

Optional: watch a public crypto wallet address for holdings visibility. No private keys. That is visibility, not withdrawal access.

What this is for (and what it is not)

For: seeing your own book next to your practice loop — fills, holdings, review — without pretending we are your broker.

Not for: auto-trading your live account, holding balances, or turning API access into a custody story.

Paper remains practice. Live fills you import remain yours. We will keep labeling those ledgers separately — see the Trust Center.

How to try it

1. Open Features and find the exchanges section

2. Install from Download

3. In the app: Journal → Exchanges

4. Create a view-only key on your venue, then connect

5. Email support@disciplineaiapp.com if a venue path is unclear or broken
